Charlie Strong tweets to Malcolm Brown after Patriots pick Malcom Brown
After Texas defensive tackle Malcom Brown was selected No. 32 overall by the New England Patriots in Thursday night’s NFL draft, Longhorns head coach Charlie Strong tried to congratulate him on Twitter.
There was a problem, however.
As pointed out by Burnt Orange Nation, Strong accidentally tweeted at former Longhorns running back Malcolm Brown, who is also waiting for his name to be called this weekend.
Strong was able to quickly correct his error and direct his congratulations to the other Brown instead, but not before his Twitter mistake was noticed.
@MalcomBrown_90 Congrats Big Mal! Proud of you!

It’s an honest mistake from Strong. I mean, the two players have the exact same name except for one letter.
Malcolm Brown even predicted earlier in the day that it would happen.
Let's see how many calls, text and tweets I get tonight when my bro @MalcomBrown_90 get drafted 😂😂

I bet he didn’t think his head coach would be one of them.
