Blackhawks send Kero to Canucks for Chaput

The Chicago Blackhawks traded center Tanner Kero to the Vancouver Canucks for center Michael Chaput, both teams announced on Sunday.

Chaput, 26, appeared in 77 games for the Canucks over the last two seasons, tallying four goals, five assists and 34 penalty minutes. He also played in 65 games for the AHL's Utica Comets in that span, collecting 55 points (19 goals, 36 assists).

He saw time in 58 NHL games with the Columbus Blue Jackets from 2013-16, collecting two goals and six assists. He was originally a third-round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2010.

Kero, who turns 26 next month, has 22 career points (eight goals, 14 assists) in 72 NHL games across three seasons with the Blackhawks. He's played in 124 games for the AHL's Rockford Ice Hogs over the last three seasons, totaling 79 points (35 goals, 44 assists).
