Birdies and goals: Vote for the Storm Works Roofing High School Boys Athlete of the Week

Braintree High's Mike Kennedy has been voted the Storm Works Roofing & Restoration High School Boys Athlete of the Week.

The boys soccer player earned over 9,400 votes (47.4%) to collect the honor. He scored the winning goal from the penalty spot with 20 seconds remaining in a 2-1 victory over Framingham.

SOCCER

Leo Monteiro, Fr., Cardinal Spellman: Monteiro scored a hat trick in a 6-1 win over Carver. All three of his goals came from outside the penalty area.

Cal McClorey, + Vinny Reen Braintree: McClorey scored a hat trick and had an assist as the Wamps rallied for a 4-3 comeback victory over Natick. Reen had two assists in that win. Reen also tallied a hat trick in a 3-1 win over Wellesley.

Jackson Rix, Sr., East Bridgewater: Rix tallied a hat trick in a 5-3 win over West Bridgewater.

Nathan Askjaer + Zach Smith, Cohasset: Both Skippers tallied hat tricks in an 8-3 win over Randolph.

Miguel Olivera, Plymouth North: Olivera scored four goals in a 7-2 win over Falmouth.

Kaden Puglia + Noah Gutierrez, Marshfield: Both Rams scored a pair of goals in a 5-2 win over Plymouth South.

Nathan Araujo, Sr., + Andy Granfors, Soph., Holliston: The captain Araujo had two goals, including the game winner, as the Panthers edged Norton, 3-2. Granfors played outstanding and collected a goal and two assists to help account for all three goals.

Jason Job, Sr., AMSA: Job scored two goals as the Eagles defeated Worcester North, 5-2.

Ben Martin, Sr., Medway: The captain Martin had a goal and an assist as the Mustangs blanked Norwood, 6-0.

CROSS COUNTRY

Ezra Blasko, Sr., East Bridgewater: Blasko took first while setting a new course record in a victory at Sandwich. He covered the 2.8-mile course in 15:21.

Sam Aubut, Sr., Nipmuc: Aubut won his last race on the Nipmuc course with a personal-best 18:06 in the Warriors’ meet with Sutton.

Jonathan Pink, Jr., Franklin: Pink placed first in 16:27 on the 2.9-mile course as the undefeated Panthers beat North Attleborough, 25-34.

Aidan Pearsall, Jr., Dover-Sherborn: Pearsall ran a 16:29 as the Raiders suffered their first team defeat of the fall, 25-30 to Norton.

Ben Scott, Sr., + Stephen Leighton, Jr., + Sean Finnegan, Soph., Hopkinton: The captain Scott won, captain Leighton took second and Finnegan took third as the Hillers defeated Westwood, 21-36, to improve to 5-0.

GOLF

Aidan Bridges, Sr., North Quincy: Bridges carded a career-low 1-under-par 33 at Presidents Golf Course. He sunk three birdies as the Raiders posted their lowest team scored in 16 years in a 213-250 win over Silver Lake.

Tom McMellen, Sr., Scituate: McMellen shot a 3-under-par 33 in a win over Weymouth.

Carson Erick + Drew Golden, Hingham: Golden had a pair of 2-under-par 34 rounds in wins over Pembroke and Hingham. Erick matched that score in a win over Marshfield as the Harbormen finished the regular season with a 15-1 record.

Joe Dacosta, Soph., Hanover: Dacosta shot a 2-under-par 33 in a win over Pembroke.

Hunter Grafton, Sr., Abington: Grafton carded a 1-under in a win over Cardinal Spellman that locked up a spot in the state tournament for the Green Wave.

Chase Kelly, Nipmuc: Kelly carded a 39 to earn medalist honors in a 183-186 win over Douglas, his fifth medalist finish of the fall. Kelly was also the medalist with a 40 in a 176-181 loss to AMSA.

Joey Nee, Jr., Medfield: Nee carded a 36 as  the Warriors defeated Hopkinton, 247-252.
