Bills sign CB Herb Miller to practice squad

Following the injury update to cornerback Tre’Davious White, the Buffalo Bills have announced a relating transaction.

White’s season came to an end in Week 4. The defender tore his Achilles.

Days later, the team announced that cornerback Herb Miller was signed to the practice squad. In a corresponding move, receiver Marcell Ateman was released from the practice squad.

Miller, 25, spent the 2023 offseason with the Carolina Panthers. He originally entered the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs after going undrafted out of Florida Atlantic in 2019. He spent 2020 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the year they won the Super Bowl.

The 2021 and 2022 seasons saw Miller with the Cleveland Browns.

Mostly a special teamer and depth player, Miller has appeared in 17 games in his career. He has notched one interception.

Miller will add to Buffalo’s depth at defensive back but he is not expected to see immediate game time.

Ateman signed with the Bills this offseason and spent training camp with the team before signing to the practice squad.
