Bills at Jaguars: 3 key matchups in Week 9

The Buffalo Bills will face the Jacksonville Jaguars in their third AFC South matchup in 2021 during Sunday’s Week 9 matchup.

Regardless of the higher stakes due to the division standings, the games, within the game, will still make all the difference.

With that, here are three key matchups to watch between the Bills (5-2) and Jaguars (1-6):

The Jaguars are getting some growing pains out of rookie cornerback Tyson Campbell. cThe No. 1 pick of Round 2 of the recent draft was thrust into the top cornerback job when CJ Henderson was traded by the Jaguars.

Wide receiver Stefon Diggs might give him a nice welcome to the NFL this week…

Pro Football Focus has handed Campbell a tough 45.4 overall mark in coverage this season.

LT Dion Dawkins vs. DE Josh Allen

While the Jaguars are a bottom-feeding team, they have gotten some decent play on defense, at times. One bright spot is pass rusher Josh Allen.

Allen has graded as PFF’s No. 8 pass rusher so far in 2021. While Jacksonville was blown out by the Seahawks last weekend, Allen did have two sacks. He could be heating up.

The Jaguars, as a unit, are pretty good at defending the run as well. The Bills usually pass it much more, anyway.

With the early-season ending injury to DJ Chark, Shenault has had to play more on the outside instead of in the slot on Jacksonville’s offense. That move has had mixed results for the Jaguars as he’s adjusting.

Facing White isn’t exactly the best game to try and have a breakout game in his new role.
