After big weekend upset, Rutgers field hockey moves up three spots

Rutgers field hockey had a statement win over the weekend, taking down then No. 3 Northwestern

With the win over the weekend, Rutgers is now 7-6 on the season and sits at No. 20 in the latest NFHCA poll. The Scarlet Knights moved up three spots this week with the win.

The ranking shows the depth of the Big Ten. Four of the top five teams in the poll are from the Big Ten:

  • No. 2 Maryland

  • No. 3 Northwestern

  • No. 4 Penn State

  • No. 5 Iowa

No. 10 Michigan and No. 21 Ohio State round out the rankings for this week.

The Scarlet Knights are No. 17 in the latest field hockey RPI update from Monday.

Last season, Rutgers hosted and won the Big Ten Tournament, marking the first time in program history that the Scarlet Knights won the conference tournament.

Rutgers plays at No. 2 Maryland this Sunday.
