Big time: Standout MetroWest and Milford-area high school athletes from the weekend

A big weekend deserves a supersized list of standout MetroWest and Milford-area high school athletics performances. These area athletes notched season and career milestones, stood out in league and statewide competition. They powered their teams to important wins and delivered berths in Central Mass. championship games.

Without further ado, here are the weekend's best performances:

KELSEY BLANCHETTE, Lincoln-Sudbury softball

The UMass commit drove in six runs in an 11-1 win over Acton-Boxborough on Friday. Blanchette was 2-for-4 and scored two runs for the Warriors. L-S' Ashleigh Lent added two hits and two RBIs and scored two runs.

LYDIA CANAVAN & HARPER FRIEDHOLM, Lincoln-Sudbury girls lacrosse

They fired in five goals each in an 18-4 win over Waltham on Saturday. Canavan also contributed an assist, a ground ball and two draw controls, while Friedholm won four draw controls for the Warriors (13-2, 10-0 Dual County League). L-S' Lexi Morrissey added two goals, three assists and two ground balls, while Tatum Friedholm won five draw controls to go along with an assist, a ground ball and a caused turnover.

LOGAN DELPONTE, Hopkinton boys lacrosse

He registered his 105th point of 2024 in an 11-4 win over Weston on Saturday to set the Hillers' single-season record. It surpassed Ken Lysik's 104-point season in 2002.

SARAH DUMAS, Franklin girls track and field

She won three titles at the Hockomock League Championships on Saturday in Milford, leading the Panthers to their fourth team title in a row. The Penn-bound senior was first in the high jump, 400-meter hurdles and 100 hurdles. Franklin's Lily DeForge placed first in the shot put, and Liz Hopkins took first in the javelin.

TAVIN HIRSCH, AMSA boys lacrosse

He put away a hat trick that included the 100th goal of his career in a 7-6 win over Oakmont on Friday. Luc Masse added two goals and tucked in the winner with seven minutes left for the Eagles (13-2).

ARI LEVINE, Hopedale boys track and field

He was named the Mercury Invitational Athlete of the Meet on Saturday after winning two events in Norton. Levine won the shot put and discus and placed fifth in the javelin. Hopedale's Nate Tucker took second in the boys 400 hurdles, while Ben Stone was first in the freshmen boys mile. Mabel Carreiro won the freshman girls mile.

ANDREW TALMO, Assabet baseball

He was 4-for-4 with five RBIs and scored a run in a 13-3 win over Worcester North on Friday. C.J. Coelho went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and three runs for Assabet (4-12).

CLAIRE WALLACE & BECCA WHITE, Algonquin girls tennis

The Titans No. 1 doubles team paved the way in the CMADA Class A semifinals with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Nashoba's Audrey Russell and Clemence Hubert on Friday. Algonquin prevailed 4-1 and will host Shrewsbury in the final Tuesday at 4 p.m. Siya Bhagwat took down Grace Hanley 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles for the Titans, while Algonquin's No. 2 pair Sophie Kopstein and Riya Mahonta prevailed 6-2, 6-1 against Lily Robinson and Sadie Gorr. At No. 3 singles, Siya Adre bested Emily Skaar 6-2, 6-4.

BLACKSTONE VALLEY TECH 4, AMSA 0: DJ Garabedian struck out six and allowed just one walk for the Beavers (14-4) on Friday. BVT's Cam Roy dropped in a two-run double during a three-run sixth inning, while Corey Magill connected on two hits and stole two bases.

WELLESLEY 8, Concord-Carlisle 1: Lincoln Loftus allowed just one run and two hits with eight strikeouts for the Raiders (11-5) on Friday. Wellesley's Charlie Carpente and Ryan McCausland had two hits each.

LINCOLN-SUDBURY 16, Acton-Boxborough 4: Warriors sophomore Ryan Gallagher collected his first varsity hit on a 3-for-4 day Friday where he drove in two runs and scored three. L-S' Mason Tarantino and Jake Haarde (3-for-4) each tripled and had three RBIs. Cooper Tarantino was 2-for-4 with a triple and scored a run for the Warriors (14-4).

FRANKLIN 3, Framingham 2: Dom Caccavelli had three hits and an RBI, scoring two runs for the Panthers on Friday. Franklin's Rex Cinelli and Jake Shaughnessy each singled and drove in a run. Framingham's Jace Coleman had a hit, an RBI and scored a run. Lucas Messer doubled for the Flyers.

MILFORD 13, Hopedale 3 (6): Keith Lee crushed a two-run double for the Scarlet Hawks on Friday. Milford's Sean McGee and Damien Carter each delivered two-run singles in the second, while Nick Koch dropped in a walk off single of sorts to end the game in the sixth. Brady Wajda went 3 for 3 with three RBIs, and Brayden Lewis had a hit and scored twice for the Blue Raiders (12-6)

AUBURN 7, Algonquin 5: Jack Doolan was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for the Titans (6-10) on Friday.

TRI-COUNTY 3, West Bridgewater 1: Dylan Maw punched out 11 in a complete game, allowing just three hits and zero earned runs Sunday. Tri-County's Zach Lawrence dropped in a two-run double with two outs in the fourth inning. Cam Cummings added an RBI for the Cougars (8-7).

WELLESLEY 7, Framingham 1: Ryan McCausland doubled and drove in three runs for the Raiders (12-5, 8-4 Bay State) on Sunday. Wellesley's Teddy Griswold dropped in two hits, while Max Boehm earned the win after a complete game where he allowed just one earned run and four hits with six strikeouts. Framingham's Jeremy Auren singled twice and scored a run, while Lucas Messer added an RBI.

HUDSON 11, Westborough 3: Lauren O'Malley launched a three-run homer and four RBIs for the Hawks (11-5, 5-3 Mid-Wach A) on Sunday. Hudson's Colbie Lacine drove in three and Audrey Lenox (double, two RBIs), Samantha Collette, Sydney Roush (double) and Livi Sousa (double) all had two hits. Bryce Kane was 2 for 3 with a homer and two RBIs for the Rangers (7-9, 3-5).

BLACKSTONE VALLEY TECH 9, AMSA 2: Lynsey Kay homered, Arihana Mercado drove in three runs, and Madison Collins (two hits) and Ella Foster each knocked in two for the Beavers (7-10, 6-2), who moved into a tie for the Colonial Athletic League lead with the Eagles (12-3, 6-2) on Friday. Kathleen Galvin doubled twice for AMSA.

MARLBOROUGH 9, Oakmont 5: Marisol Burgos pitched a complete game and was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Panthers (10-6). Marlborough's Catherine Seay went 3-for-4 with a triple and drove in two runs Friday.

WAYLAND 5, Watertown 4 (8): Sophia Beckett tripled and touched home for the winning run for the Warriors (6-7) on Friday.

Boys lacrosse

FRANKLIN 12, Bishop Feehan 7: Zach Langevin (two assists) and Dylan McEvoy each put away a hat trick for the Panthers (13-2) on Friday.

BLACKSTONE VALLEY TECH 8, Bellingham 3: Jackson Mastroianni (assist) and Adam Fransen each found the net once for the Beavers. BVT's Jamie Nelson added a goal and an assist.

Girls lacrosse

LINCOLN-SUDBURY 13, Westford Academy 6: Lydia Canavan scored four goals with an assist and a draw control for the Warriors (12-2, 9-0 Dual County) on Friday. L-S' Harper Friedholm contributed two goals, two assists, three ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers. Warriors junior Ella Ryan connected on a hat trick with an assist and a draw control, while goalie Lydia Mossi saved 10 shots and picked up a ground ball.

WELLESLEY 10, Westwood 8: Olivia Comella put away four goals for the Raiders (13-4) on Saturday. Wellesley's Abby Begans collected a hat trick.

Boys volleyball

NEWTON NORTH 3, Wayland 0: Finn Bell put down 22 kills and five digs for the Warriors (10-7) on Friday. Wayland's Joey Burke distributed 31 assists with four kills.

Boys tennis

BARTLETT 3, Hopedale 2: The Blue Raiders (5-4) swept the doubles points Friday. No. 1 pair Dom Costanza and Carter Lachiatto beat Izayah Perry and Jason Blaisdell 8-1, while Matthew Miller and Brady Droeske prevailed 8-4 against Josh Torres and Aiden Cruz at No. 2.

MARLBOROUGH 4, Nashoba 1: Manraaj Singh bested Alex Jangro 8-2 at No. 1 singles for the Panthers (9-5) on Friday. Marlborough No. 1 doubles pair Alex Resendes and Methru Bandara beat Miguel Abreu and Carter Neuschafer 8-1, while No. 2s Pranav Balaji and Gabe Bullis bested Harry Cantin and Dimitri Klochkov 8-1.

ST. JOHN'S 3, Westborough 2; Westborough 3, Shrewsbury 2: Rangers No. 1 Srinjoy Ghosh went 2-0 on Sunday in a doubleheader. He beat Shrewsbury's Tysan Dang 8-1 and Agam Kukreja of St. John's 8-3.

Girls tennis

WESTBOROUGH 4, Shrewsbury 1: Isabel Feldman made short work of Anushri Mishra 8-0 for the Rangers (10-3) on Sunday. Westborough's Diya Bhattacharya bested Anna Wang 8-3, while the Rangers swept the doubles points. Westborough no. 1 pair Elena Chen and Sahasra Kommineni beat Riddhi Gulati and Arpan Chabra 8-6, and Ella Glasgow and Nicole Nguyen defeated Nidhi Vidyaprakash and Ivana Gurivindipalli 8-2 at No. 2.
