Former Iowa State Cyclones and Iowa Hawkeyes were a big part of Sunday's NFC Championship Game, a 34-31 San Francisco 49ers victory over the Detroit Lions.
Former Cyclone Brock Purdy and ex-Hawkeye George Kittle helped the 49ers get the victory and earn a trip to the Feb. 11 Super Bowl vs. Kansas City.
On the other side of the field, Detroit got big contributions from former Hawkeyes Sam LaPorta and Jack Campbell as well as former Cyclone David Montgomery.
