The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center high school Athlete of the Week voting occurs each week during high school sports competition and recognizes athletes across all sports.

High school sports: 2022-23 Athletes of the week

Once athletes win during the regular season, they're not eligible to be back on the ballot until the postseason. If athletes haven't won in the regular season, they can be nominated more than once.

Here are this week's Athlete of the Week candidates:

Harper Annarino, Granville basketball: Scored 37 points in a 61-40 victory over Licking Heights to set the program’s single-game scoring record. She eclipsed Ellen Bain’s record of 36 points.

Brady Barb, Johnstown basketball: Scored 30 points, including seven 3-pointers, in an 81-60 win over Utica.

Addy Tweed, Marysville basketball: Had 16 points, six steals, four rebounds and two blocked shots in a 39-27 win over Olentangy Liberty.

Sophie Ziel, Watterson basketball: Hit a game-winning 3-pointer with 2.1 seconds remaining in a 40-37 victory over DeSales to clinch the league championship. Ziel, who is  averaging 17 points, made four 3s and finished 18 points. She also had 15 points in a 42-38 win over Grove City.
