While more couples are moving out of larger cities to raise children, the shift to a more suburban lifestyle has yet to completely erase city life.

In fact, even the largest cities in America, such as New York City, have attractive benefits for family life—the highest number of parks, recreation areas, and so on.

Of course, bigger cities can often present bigger problems, so there’s little surprise that the best spots in 2023 for raising a family have an overall population under 500,000 (and, in one instance, under 25,000).
