Berks County Division I college field hockey update for the 2023 season

Dec. 11—A total of 29 Berks County graduates were on Division I field hockey rosters this season. Here's how each player fared during the 2023 season, according to stats posted on school websites:

Sarah Althouse, Bucknell: Althouse, a freshman goalie from Muhlenberg, played in all 17 games, making 16 starts, for the Bison (3-3 Patriot League, 8-9) and finished with 84 saves, a 1.52 goals-against average and a .757 save percentage. She posted three shutouts.

Catherine Arentz, Temple: Arentz, a freshman midfielder from Wilson, played in 19 games for the Owls (4-3 Big East, 11-8).

Katelyn Bailey, American: Bailey, a junior defender/midfielder from Wilson, started all 19 games for the Eagles (6-0 Patriot League, 11-8), who won the Patriot League regular season and tournament titles and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

Sarah Beers, James Madison: Beers, a senior defender from Oley, had two goals in 17 games, 16 of them starts, for the Dukes (5-12).

Belle Bressler, Connecticut: Bressler, a graduate student midfielder from Berks Catholic, had three goals, one a game-winner, two assists and two defensive saves in 18 games, all starts, for the Huskies (2-5 Big East, 5-13)

Julia Bressler, Connecticut: Bressler, a sophomore forward from Berks Catholic, had six goals, one a game-winner, in 17 games, 10 of them starts, for the Huskies (2-5 Big East, 5-13). She was named to the NFHCA Mideast Region second team.

Mallory Buzydlowski Saint Joseph's: Buzydlowski, a freshman midfielder from Berks Catholic, did not appear in any games for the Hawks (7-0 Atlantic 10, 16-5), who won the Atlantic 10 regular season and tournament titles and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

Makayla Carahaly, Ohio State: Carahaly, a sophomore forward from Twin Valley, had one assist in six games for the Buckeyes (4-4 Big Ten, 14-6).

Kailie Connor, Miami (Ohio): Connor, a senior back from Wilson, had one defensive save in 23 games, two of them starts, for the RedHawks (6-1 MAC, 15-8), who won the Mid-American Conference Tournament and qualified for NCAA Tournament.

Erika Culp, Saint Joseph's: Culp, a freshman forward from Wilson, was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie team after scoring seven goals, one a game-winner, in 21 games, one of them a start, for the Hawks (7-0 A-10, 16-5). Saint Joseph's won the Atlantic 10 regular season and tournament titles and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

Katelyn Dulin, Michigan State: Dulin, a freshman midfielder from Boyertown, appeared in nine games, two of them starts, for the Spartans (1-7 Big Ten, 4-12).

Natali Foster, Drexel: Foster, a sophomore forward from Twin Valley, was named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association second team. She had 10 goals, two of them game-winners, and nine assists for a team-high 29 points in 20 games, all starts, for the Dragons (4-2 CAA. 14-6).

Sophia Gladieux, Penn State: Gladieux, a senior forward from Oley Valley, was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season. She had a team-high 21 goals, six of them game-winners, and three assists for a team-high 45 points in 17 games, all starts, for the Nittany Lions (4-4 Big Ten, 9-8). She was selected to the All-Big Ten first team and the NFHCA Mideast Region first team for the fourth straight season.

Sydney Grim, UMass Lowell: Grim, a junior forward from Berks Catholic, had one goal, a game-winner, in 17 games for the River Hawks (7-1 America East, 14-4).

Peyton Halsey, Northwestern: Halsey, a grad student midfielder/forward from Exeter, was selected to the All-Big Ten first team. She had a team-high 13 goals, six of them game-winners, and 10 assists for a team-high 36 points in 23 games, all starts, for the Wildcats (8-0, 21-2), who won the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles and were the national runners-up. She also was selected the NCAA All-Tournament Team and to the NFHCA West Region first team.

Madi Herb, Connecticut: Herb, a junior forward from Wilson, had one goal, a game-winner, and three assists in 18 games, all starts, for the Huskies (2-5 Big East, 5-13).

Emily Horace, American: Horace, a senior defender from Wilson, played in 12 games, 10 of them starts, for the Eagles (6-0 Patriot League, 11-8), who won the Patriot League regular season and tournament titles and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

Morgan Kaufmann, Connecticut: Kaufmann, a senior midfielder from Wilson, played in one game for the Huskies (2-5 Big East, 5-13).

Aaliyah Linfoot, Colgate: Linfoot, a senior forward from Exeter, had one assist in 14 games, 13 of them starts, for the Raiders (0-6 Patriot League, 3-14).

Kayla Maciejewski, Lock Haven: Maciejewski, a redshirt sophomore forward from Oley Valley, played in 12 games for the Bald Eagles (2-5 Atlantic 10, 5-12).

Ella Maillie, Saint Francis: Maillie, a senior midfielder from Exeter, played in 17 games, all starts, for the Red Flash (5-2 Northeast Conference, 10-8).

Carlie Servis, Miami (Ohio): Servis, a junior midfielder from Twin Valley, was named to the All-Mid American Conference second team after registering nine goals and eight assists in 23 games, 21 of them starts, for the RedHawks (6-1 MAC, 15-8), who won the MAC Tournament and qualified for NCAA Tournament.

Emma Staron, Albany: Staron, a freshman midfielder/back from Wilson, played in 10 games for the Great Danes (8-1 America East, 13-6).

Sydney Stuhl, UMass Lowell: Stuhl, a freshman midfielder from Wilson, played in one game for the River Hawks (7-1 America East, 14-4).

Aubreigh Uba, Louisville: Uba, a freshman back from Berks Catholic, did not appear in any games for the Cardinals (3-3 ACC, 15-7), who qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

Bryn Underwood, American: Underwood, a senior goalie from Wilson, was named the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, to the academic All-Patriot League first team and to the All-Patriot League second team. She also made the NFHCA Mid-Atlantic Region second team. It's the third straight year she's earned all-region honors. She played in 19 games, all starts, finishing with 90 saves, a 1.24 goals-against average and a .783 save percentage for the Eagles (6-0 Patriot League, 11-8), who won the Patriot League regular season and tournament titles and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. She also posted four shutouts. She has a cumulative GPA of 3.95 and will graduate in the spring with a degree in business and entertainment with a focus in music performance.

Reagan Underwood, Liberty: Underwood, a senior midfielder/back from Wilson, was named to the All-Big East first team after registering five goals, two of them game-winners, and six assists in 20 games, all starts, for the Flames (7-0 Big East, 17-3), who won the Big East regular season title and qualified for the NCAA Tournament. She was named to the NFHCA South Region second team.

Tetje Williamson, Delaware: Williamson, a freshman back from Oley Valley, played in 14 games, eight of them starts, for the Blue Hens (3-3 CAA, 8-9).

Emma Winther, Saint Joseph's: Winther, a sophomore back from Twin Valley, played in 21 games, four of them starts, for the Hawks (7-0, 16-5), who won the Atlantic 10 regular season and tournament titles and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.
