Bemidji State baseball unveils schedule for 73rd season

Dec. 12—BEMIDJI — Bemidji State baseball head coach Matt Ellinghuysen has unveiled the schedule for the 73rd edition of the BSU baseball team, which is set to start its season Feb. 23-25.

The Beavers will play 50 games and 16 series during the 2024 season, including 10 nonconference games and a 40-game Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference season.

Bemidji State opens the fresh season with a trip to the Kansas City-St. Louis, Mo., area for three nonconference series against Rockhurst University, William Jewell College and University of Missouri-St. Louis. The Beavers will play a four-game series at Rockhurst Feb. 23-25 to open the season, followed by another four-game series against William Jewell March 1-3 in Liberty, Mo.

BSU will then close out the trip March 4 with a doubleheader at Missouri-St. Louis to conclude non-conference play.

Bemidji State opens conference play against defending NSIC regular-season champs and NCAA Division II World Series participant Augustana for a four-game series March 8-10 in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Beavers then continue play on the road with four-game series at Wayne State (March 15-17) and Winona State (March 22-24).

The Beavers host their first home series of the 2024 season March 28-30 for four games against Southwest Minnesota State to close out the month of March.

BSU then hits the road for the first series in April at Sioux Falls (April 5-7) before returning home for a two-game series against Minnesota Duluth (April 10) and three-game set against Minnesota State (April 13-14).

The Beavers will spend the next two weeks on the road with road trips to Minnesota Crookston (April 17), Northern State (April 20-21) and U-Mary (April 24). BSU then spends its final week at home with series against Concordia-St. Paul (April 27-28) and Minot State (April 30) at the BSU baseball field.

Bemidji State finishes the 2024 regular season on the road and travels to St. Cloud State May 3-4 for a three-game series.

The top eight teams in the NSIC standings at the end of the regular season advance to play in the 2024 NSIC Baseball Tournament held May 8-11 in Mandan and Bismarck, N.D.

Ellinghuysen begins his third season at the helm of the Bemidji State baseball program. He returns 23 letter winners and has added 19 newcomers to the squad.
