Beavers drop home matchup with USF, Erin Barrette scores 20

Feb. 16—BEMIDJI — The Bemidji State women's basketball team started off its homestand with a 77-72 loss to Sioux Falls on Friday at the BSU Gymnasium.

BSU (6-17, 3-16 NSIC) hung around throughout the game, but Sioux Falls (8-15, 6-13 NSIC) maintained the lead after each quarter. The Cougars took a seven-point lead after the first quarter, and while Bemidji State cut that to five at the half, USF responded to carry a nine-point advantage into the fourth quarter.

Erin Barrette led the Beavers with 20 points, followed by Amme Sheforgen with 14. Alyssa Hill and Sam Pogatchnik scored 11 each.

Kami Wadsworth led Sioux Falls with 26 points. Danielle Minsaas chipped in 22.
