Bears WR N’Keal Harry won’t play vs. Vikings in Week 5

The Chicago Bears activated the 21-day practice window for receiver N’Keal Harry to return from injured reserve.

Harry suffered an ankle injury back on Aug. 6, and he was placed on IR before the start of the season, making him eligible to return in Week 5.

With a battered and unimpressive wideout group, the hope is Harry can provide a spark. Unfortunately, that won’t happen on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.

Head coach Matt Eberflus said Harry won’t suit up for Sunday’s game, which means it’ll be Darnell Mooney, Velus Jones Jr., Equanimeous St. Brown, Dante Pettis and Ihmir Smith-Marsette at receiver.

“We thought he looked really good,” Eberflus said of Harry, via ChicagoBears.com. “He did some practice reps for us on the show team. Did some individual there and he’s looking good.”

That leaves another couple of weeks for Harry to get back up to speed and activated off IR. If not, he’s done for the season.

You have to imagine Harry has one game in particular circled on his calendar — a Week 7 matchup against his former team, the New England Patriots. Assuming Harry returns, he’d surely like to get revenge against the team that traded him this offseason.
