Bears re-sign Jordan Palmer, Nate Collins

The Chicago Bears have reached agreements on one-year contracts with defensive tackle Nate Collins and quarterback Jordan Palmer.

The Bears reached deals with them prior to free agency starting Tuesday.

It's hard to say if this means that the Bears will keep Josh McCown as their backup.

No deal is imminent, according to reports.

Palmer is the younger brother of Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer.

He's played five NFl seasons, including stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cincinnati Bengals and Bears.

Collins is coming off a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee suffered in October against the New Orleans Saints. He was starting and had 13 tackles and a sack when the Bears lost defensive tackle Henry Melton for the season with a torn ACL of his own.

Now, Collins is back and Melton is a free agent.
