Bears' interview list focuses on offensive coordinators

The Chicago Bears are targeting offensive coordinators in their search for a new head coach.

Bears officials met Sunday with Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, and Chicago received permission to interview Houston Texans offensive coordinator Rick Dennison and Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, ESPN reported Sunday.

Marc Trestman, the current head coach of the Canadian Football League's Montreal Alouettes and former offensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders, is due to interview with the Bears this week, multiple media outlets reported.

Under McCoy's guidance, Peyton Manning led the Broncos to a 13-3 record this year and the AFC's No. 1 seed. Denver finished the regular season ranked second in the league in scoring and fourth in total defense.

Dennison worked with Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and wide receiver Brandon Marshall when they were with the Broncos.

Dennison was a finalist for the Broncos' heading coaching job two years ago that went to John Fox.

Bevell guided rookie quarterback Russell Wilson to an effective season and a win Sunday in a first-round playoff game against the Washington Redskins. Seattle's offense ranked 17th in the regular season, third in rushing and 27th in passing.

Lovie Smith was fired as the Bears' head coach after the season despite the team's 10-6 finish.
