Mitchell was a four-star recruit who originally went to Auburn. He transferred to Baylor after the 2017-18 season, and showed incredible improvement during his two years at Baylor. After a decent first campaign in the 2019-20 season, his shooting percentage went from 40.9 to 51.1, his three-point shooting went from 32.4 percent to 44.7 percent, his assists increased from 3.8 to 5.5 per game and his points per game jumped from 9.9 to 14.1.
In her latest mock draft, Yahoo Sports' Krysten Peek has Mitchell going to the Toronto Raptors at No. 7, calling him "the best on-ball defender in college basketball."
