After blowing leads in the ninth and 10th innings, the Diamondbacks (5-5) finally put the Giants away. The loss was the fourth in a row at home for the Giants, who became the first team in the majors to lose eight games. The 3-8 start matches the worst in the club's West Coast history. - - - Twins 8, Royals 5 The Minnesota offense belted 14 hits in an 8-5 win against Kansas City. Five Twins had at least two hits, including first baseman Kennys Vargas, who blasted a two-run homer in the second inning to erase an early 2-0 deficit.
