Bartlesville golfers snap off 'unbelievable' score in senior play
Oklahoma’s largest senior men’s golf association turned out en masse last week at the Adams course and produced a big-time performance.
Senior association officer Gary Reheis labeled the 59 shot by the twosome of Steve Hughes and Bill Bridendolph as “unbelievable.”
“That’s a heck of a score,” Reheis added.
Scores of area seniors descended on Adams for the 6-6-6 tournament. Due to a break in the recent record-breaking heat spell. "It wasn’t too bad,” said Reheis. “It was a decent day.”
The format featured six holes of alternate shots, six holes of scramble and six holes of shamble. Hughes and Bridendolph surged to a seven-stroke victory.

“They blew everybody out of the water,” said Reheis, adding Hughes is an exceptional golfer for any age. He played from the championship tees during the recent city tourney, Reheis noted.
Hughes finished 13th (158, 82-76) in the city tourney championship flight.
