Baird boys open hoops season with win over Watertown
Nov. 1—Walter J. Baird's boys pitched a first-quarter shutout Monday night as the host Blue Devils opened their middle school basketball season with a 45-18 win over Watertown.
The Blue Devils led 12-0 at the first-quarter break and 20-6 at halftime.
Elliott Greer tossed in 12 points and Chad Lanning 11, including three 3-pointers, for Baird. Romel Anderson finished with five in the first quarter; Tyler Auth, Marxavier Anglin and Mason Baird four each for the game, Eli Spurlock a 3 and Markhail Anglin two.
Logan Kennedy scored all six Purple Tiger points in the second quarter and led his team with eight. Connor Parkerson scored seven and Abel Utley a 3-pointer.
Walter J. Baird will play against West Wilson at Mt. Juliet High on Thursday.
