Aum Dhruv of Fort Myers wins Scholar Athlete Award at Southwest Florida High School Sports Awards

Aum Dhruv of Fort Myers High School earned the Scholar Award last Thursday at the Southwest Florida High School Sports Awards, presented by Babcock Ranch.

Other finalists were Hudson Fry of Gulf Coast High School and Catie Laur of Barron Collier High School.

Dhruv was a three-time swimming regional qualifier for the Green Wave. He finished his academic career with a  6.95 weighted GPA, pending final transcript, and scored a 35 on his ACT. He’s won several accolades, including first place in the FIRST Global Innovation Awards, in the Invention Convention Nationals and in Beta Nationals agri-ccience.

Dhrum is a 4-time Invention Convention National Finalist and won the National Environmental and Social impact Award. He’s also won first place at DECA states, HOSA states, Beta states math, Beta state agri-science and Beta states biomedical Health Science.

He was more than just STEM though, also taking first place in the Southwest Florida Aspiring Authors poetry contest and second place in the Lee County Student Film & Television Awards. And he was Senior Prom King.
