Auburn lands commitment from 3-star DL Jamarrion Harkless

A day after a blowout loss to Penn State, Auburn received some much needed good news when three-star defensive lineman Jamarrion Harkless announced his commitment to the Tigers.

Harkless, a former Illinois commit, is from Lexington, Kentucky, and picked the Tigers over Ole Miss and Illinois.

Measuring in at 6-feet-4, and 290-pounds, he projects best as a defensive tackle for Auburn. He is Auburn’s ninth commit overall and the third along the defensive line, joining four-star edge rushers Ashley Williams and Wilky Denaud.

He is ranked as the No. 88 defensive lineman in the country according to the 247Sports Composite ranking. He is also the No. 792 overall player and No. 8 player from Kentucky.

He is Auburn’s second commit in the past four days, four-star wide receiver Adam Hopkins committed to the Tigers on Thursday.

His commitment is a piece of good news on an otherwise uninspiring weekend for the Tigers where they were blown out 41-12 by the Nittany Lions. Not only was the loss in front of a packed Jordan-Hare, but several key Auburn targets were also in attendance for the disappointing loss.
