Auburn announces enhancements to Jordan-Hare Stadium

Fans attending Auburn games at Jordan-Hare Stadium this fall will notice a few upgrades.

Auburn University announced more than 20 improvements to the greatest stadium on the Plains on Thursday. Among them are more seating, in-stadium entertainment improvements, quicker concession stand options, and new accessibility options.

Due to the demand for season tickets, Auburn University has introduced additional premium seating options, which will push Jordan-Hare Stadium’s capacity to over 88,000.  Fans will also have fast access to concessions, thus cutting down on time away from the action.

Here’s a full rundown of stadium enhancements ahead of the 2023 season.

Auburn’s largest outdoor venue’s capacity got even bigger this offseason, as the University added 502 new seats, raising the total to 88,043.

The seating increase is mostly due to the fact Auburn added six new premium suites to the field level. These suites “feature televisions, fans, high-top seating, drink rails, along with premium food and beverage offerings. Suites will range in capacity from 16 to 24 guests with prices ranging per game from $200 to $1250 per person”

Have you ever tried to send a text during a game, just for it not to go through and show up in a dreaded green bubble? How about tried to look up a  play on Twitter during the still-to-long review process, and nothing will load?

Well do I have some good news for you! At long last, Auburn has upgraded the in-stadium wifi to the “latest WiFi6 technology, covering all stadium entrances, concourses, clubs and general seating.”

Stimulant-hungry Gen Z’s rejoice!

My personal favorite addition is the brand new lighting effects that will be added. Imagine moments like this with some strobe lighting and special effects.

The University is also adding a DJ Booth in the middle of the student section next year, which is certainly… an idea.

No one likes missing out on a big play because they were waiting in line for a coke or a mediocre cheesesteak. Now, fans hopefully won’t have to.

Auburn is adding four new “Fast-Flight” stands and two new “Bodda Getta Grab-n-Go express marketplaces”.

These new stands, which will operate like C-Stores with self checkout lines, will hopefully streamline the process of waiting for food and drinks at Jordan-Hare.

New accessibility options

Probably the most important additions to Jordan-Hare this year, Auburn University has added closed captions to the video board, a new concept called “Special Needs Assistance Station for You”, and cooling stations around the stadium.

Special Needs Assistance Station for You” is a new program “designed to create a comfortable and inclusive environment for individuals and families with special needs. This partnership includes the addition of a dedicated tent on Nicholls Lawn near the ADA bus drop-off location, while also introducing special needs supplies to all in-stadium first aid stations for families who need assistance on game days. The accessible tents and spaces will offer private spaces for individuals who need a quiet and secluded environment and are designed to ensure easy entry and exit for all attendees, including those with mobility challenges.”

Auburn games can be extremely loud and chaotic, and these additions are imperative to make sure everyone feels safe, and secure, and is able to have a great time watching Auburn football.
