“We got Aubrey Hensley back, and man, is that a game-changer,” said Gooding. “She is so dynamic both offensively and defensively. She changed our whole makeup because she is such a leader and a general out there on the field.”

Gooding recorded her 100th win in six seasons as Bedford’s coach.

“100 is really cool, but I can tell you — it comes from the girls,” she said. "It’s who I’m surrounded by, and these girls are top-notch. … I’ve had such special groups that I’m extremely proud of. I’ve also been extremely fortunate to have the best assistants in Brian May and Kendra Dunlap. Our program wouldn’t be what it is without them.”

Emma Price delivered a walk-off single in the first game. Other offensive stars were Nyah Mullins, Ashtyn Batey, Payton Pudlowski, Paige Bock and Briona Chevrette.
