Arnold Ebiketie’s and Jaquan Brisker’s NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year odds

Penn State ended up seeing a good handful of its top defensive players from 2021 go on to be selected by multiple NFL teams in the 2022 NFL draft. Among the defensive standouts being drafted were defensive end Arnold Ebiketie to the Atlanta Falcons and safety Jaquan Brisker to the Chicago Bears. Both players were drafted in the second round, which means both are considered long-shot players to take home the NFL’s defensive rookie of the year award.

Former Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons was the unanimous winner of the defensive rookie of the year award in 2021. But if Penn State is going to go back-to-back for the honor, Ebiketie or Brisker will have to overcome some tough odds in their rookie seasons.

Thanks to the odds released by Tipico Sportsbook, we know that the favorites to win the award next season are Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux (New York Giants) and Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson (Detroit Lions) at +450. Ebiketie is on the board at +4,000. Brisker comes in below that with +5,000 odds to win the award.

Former Penn State linebacker Brandon Smith is listed at +8,000 with the Carolina Panthers. No other Penn State player currently appears on the odds from Tipico.
