Armando Bacot, Harrison Ingram reveal alarming detail about UNC after loss

The North Carolina Tar Heels came out flat in Tuesday’s loss to Clemson, falling behind 15-2 in the first four or so minutes. The loss comes after an emotional win over rival Duke on Saturday, and it feels like that win might have taken a little too much out of UNC.

Tuesday was a classic letdown game for the Tar Heels, and it showed right away with the poor shooting. It didn’t help that Clemson hit 7 of its first 8 shots to grab the lead. While UNC tied the score late, it never led.

Following the game, there were a few interesting quotes from two players and head coach Hubert Davis that might make some sense of why they struggled.

Both Armando Bacot and Harrison Ingram revealed the practices leading into the game were not good, and some players showed up late to warmups Tuesday night:

Uh oh.

That’s not a great look. Yes, you beat your rival Duke in a big game, but there is a bigger goal here and that includes winning the ACC. Taking any game for granted is not a good idea and that showed on Tuesday.

Davis followed by saying he didn’t like how the team was practicing leading into this game:

It’s not time to panic, yet. But this is a gut-check for the team as it heads into a tough road environment on Saturday afternoon in Miami.
