Another former Bengals QB continues to surge in XFL
Former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback AJ McCarron has made major splashes in the XFL while leading two epic comeback victories.
But he’s not the only former Bengals quarterback making waves in the revived league.
Drew Plitt, a Loveland High School product who spent last preseason with the Bengals, now has his Arlington Renegades at 1-1. In his first game, Plitt went 19-of-25 with 172 yards in a win over the Vegas Vipers.
Plitt told Dave Clark of the Cincinnati Enquirer that a big part of his success now is due to time spent with the Bengals.
“When I was with the Bengals, that’s how I learned to be a professional,” Plitt said. “I was able to learn from players like Joe Burrow, Brandon Allen and Jake Browning. All of them really taught me what it means to be a professional, so getting to learn from them was great.”
McCarron has been the perfect example of why the XFL should succeed based on his recent comments after a win. And Plitt, another guy who wasn’t breaking through into major NFL playing time but getting a big shot in the XFL, is exactly what McCarron described.
