Those who were left wondering whether Purdy was aware of the comparisons to Frey got their answer shortly after the former Iowa State star led the 49ers in a historic comeback against the Detroit Lions in the NFC championship game. Brock's brother, Chubba, was seen on video saying, "Anna Frey going to the Super Bowl!" to which the quarterback laughed and said, "Stop" — pointing to the fact that he knows about his doppleganger.

Frey (pronounced "fry") is a 16-year old high school tennis player from Farmington, Utah, who rose to fame due to her resemblance to Purdy.

As of Wednesday, Frey has accumulated more than 1.3 million followers on TikTok as a result of her recent rise to stardom. She came under the spotlight roughly five months ago when a video showed an off-camera interviewer asking her what her favorite animal is. She offered a goat as her answer before — at the request of her interviewer — bleating like the animal.

The video went viral, and the comments section began filling up with people claiming she looked like Purdy.

"It was just a whole bunch of other comments that said that same thing," Frey told Fox's Salt Lake affiliate. "I went and bought a Brock Purdy jersey for the playoffs and I made a TikTok about it and that blew up, too."

Indeed, her earliest post comparing herself to the 49ers QB is dated on Jan. 20, two days before Purdy and San Francisco beat the Packers in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs:

The following week, after the 49ers' NFC championship game win vs. Detroit, Frey posted a TikTok video side-by-side with Chubba Purdy's video, with the caption, "Patiently waiting for my Super Bowl invite."

At Super Bowl media day on Monday, Purdy was asked if he was aware of the comparisons to Frey.

"I think it's funny," Purdy said. "A lot of my teammate sent me the video, and I was like, 'Why is everyone sending me this video of this girl?' and they were like, 'She looks like you.' It's been a funny joke with all of us."

But does the 49ers quarterback actually believe he looks like Frey?

Frey has already developed something of a following based off her own athletic prowess — not on the gridiron, but on the tennis court. An aspiring Division I tennis player, Frey is currently ranked among the top girls tennis players in the nation, according to tennisrecruiting.net.

She is ranked as the No. 6 sophomore in the country, and the No. 1 player from the state of Utah. Her achievements helped her earned the inaugural title of "Ms. Tennis"from the Deseret News in 2023. She earned that distinction by winning the Utah 6A state tennis championship for Farmington High School.
