Andre Cisco: ‘That last game doesn’t mean much’ vs. Chargers
The Jacksonville Jaguars will meet the Los Angeles Chargers for the second time this season when they host the team on Wild Card Weekend.
In the first matchup, the Jaguars cruised to a 38-10 blowout win at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. But that game was more than 100 days ago in Week 3 of the regular season.
“It’s similar to playing in your division, that last game doesn’t mean much. You’ve got to do it again,” Jaguars safety Andre Cisco said Monday on Jags Report Live. “As a new NFL player in my second year, I’m not used to playing teams twice a year as often as we do. It’s an advantage in terms of you’ve seen the players that you’ve played.”
Not all of the players, though.
The most notable absence from the September game in LA was five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan Allen, who was dealing with a hamstring injury at the time. In the last eight games of the season, Allen had 60 receptions, 675 yards, and four touchdowns.
Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert was also dealing with an injury at the time, although he opted to play through a rib cartilage fracture. Against the Jaguars, he completed a season-low 55.6 percent of his passes.
Cisco is right. The Jaguars’ 28-point victory in September doesn’t mean much Saturday.
