Here are the Anderson, Pickens top high school football players at midseason

At midseason for South Carolina high school football teams, several players have stood out in Anderson and Pickens counties.

Here is a list of the top football players in the area so far during the 2023 season.

Note: Statistics were submitted by coaches or found online at MaxPreps. Players are listed in alphabetical order by school, then last name.

K Peter Bertoni, Belton-Honea Path, Jr. In 45 place-kicking attempts — extra points and field goals — Bertoni has converted 44.

LB Tye Kelly, Belton-Honea Path, Jr. Kelly has made 43 tackles, five for a loss with one sack.

RB Marquise Henderson, Belton-Honea Path, Jr. In six games with only 103 touches, Henderson has gained 1,337 total yards — that's an average of 12.9 yards per touch — and scored 20 touchdowns

RB Shaheem Robbs, Belton-Honea Path, Sr. Robbs has totaled 640 yards with 8 TDs as part of the Bears' three-headed rushing attack.

DB Tajeh Watson-Martin, Belton-Honea Path, Fr. Watson-Martin has three interceptions and made 21 tackles.

QB Dylan Dale, Crescent, Jr. Dale has combined to gain 1,144 yards with 12 total touchdowns. He has two interceptions while completing 71% of his passes.

DL Jake Duncan, Crescent, Jr. Duncan has four sacks among six tackles for a loss with 24 total tackles.

ATH Darius Latimer, Crescent, Jr. Along with Dale, Latimer has been the key to Crescent's offense. He's gained 678 total yards with nine touchdowns.

RB Ja'kari Bennett, Daniel, Sr. Bennett is one of the most efficient backs in the area, averaging 13.1 yards per touch. He has 773 total yards and 12 TDs for the Lions.

LB Spencer Conn, Daniel, Jr. Conn has recorded 40 tackles with 3.5 for a loss and two sacks. He has one interception.

LB Talan Scott, Easley, Sr. Scott has 55 tackles with five for a loss including one sack, has two forced fumbles and one blocked punt.

RB Logan Sullivan, Easley, So. Sullivan has gained 962 all-purpose yards with six touchdowns.

DB Jaylen Harrison, T.L. Hanna, Sr. Harrison has 50 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and has broken up three passes.

RB KD Patterson, T.L. Hanna, Jr. Patterson has gained 870 total yards with 12 touchdowns on just 73 touches — an average of 11.92 yards per touch.

RB Vashun Burton, T.L. Hanna, Sr. Burton has gained 650 total yards with six TDs.

DB Jayden Jenkins, Palmetto, So. Jenkins has three interceptions this season, one of which he returned for a TD, and made 23 tackles.

DL Trent Garner, Pendleton, So. He has four sacks among his seven tackles for loss and 25 tackles total.

QB Luke Gray, Pendleton, Sr. Gray has 1,744 total yards with 31 TDs and one interception while completing 72% of his passes.

WR Kory Jones, Pendleton, Sr. Jones has 35 receptions for 701 yards with 14 total TDs.

ATH Abijah Webb, Pendleton, Sr. Webb has 762 all-purpose yards with eight touchdowns and 36 receptions.

RB Jayden Pepper, Powdersville, Sr. The Greenville transfer has gained 505 total yards with nine touchdowns.

DB Zeke Marshall, Westside, Jr. The 6-foot-6 defensive back has three interceptions, a blocked punt and 23 tackles.

RB Sharode Richardson, Westside, Jr. Richardson has an average of 14.45 yards per touch. He's gained a total of 679 yards with seven TDs.

QB Cutter Woods, Westside, Jr. Woods has 1,281 total yards with 14 touchdowns and two interceptions while completing 70% of his passes.

WR Joshua Williams, Westside, Sr. Woods' No. 1 target is the Chatanooga commit. Williams has 611 total yards with nine touchdowns and 32 catches.

QB Colten Bagwell, Wren, Jr. Bagwell, a first-year starter, has gained 1,155 total yards with 11 TDs and four interceptions against a daunting non-region schedule.
