Alyssa Hill ties Beavers shooting record in loss against SMSU

Jan. 5—MARSHALL — Alyssa Hill didn't miss a shot.

The Bemidji State women's basketball sophomore forward scored 16 points on eight attempts. She went 8 for 8 from the field, tying the program record for the most field goal attempts without a miss in a single game.

Hill matched Beth Buckingham (1985), Amy Lawson (2008) and Sierra Senske's (2014) program-best shooting mark. However, it wasn't enough to slow down Southwest Minnesota State.

The Mustangs pulled away to an 86-72 win in the fourth quarter. The Beavers held SMSU to 10 points in the third quarter and trailed by eight before Southwest Minnesota State outscored BSU 25-19 in the final frame.

Hill had a team-high 16 for Bemidji State. Sam Pogatchnik (15 points), Amme Sheforgen (12) and Erin Barrette (11) also finished with double-digit points. Sheforgen added a team-high six rebounds in the loss.

Bri Stoltzman led all scorers with 25 points on 7 of 17 shooting from the field. She made all 10 of her attempted free throws. Peyton Blandin (13), Elizabeth Wagner (12) and Hannah Parsley (11) also finished in double figures for points.
