Alabama women's basketball gets commitment from Arkansas Pine-Bluff transfer Zaay Green

After making its third straight NCAA tournament appearance and advancing to the second round for the first time since 2020-21, Alabama women's basketball made its first move of the off-season by signing Arkansas Pine-Bluff transfer Zaay Green.

A 2018 McDonald's All-American, Green joins the Crimson Tide from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where she started 55 games for the Golden Lions.

Green previously spent time with Tennessee for two seasons and Texas A&M for one before transferring to Arkansas at Pine Bluff for three until ultimately announcing making her way back to the SEC and joining the Crimson Tide for the 2024-25 season.

Green averaged 16.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 2.2 steals for the Golden Lions last season on 42.3% shooting. She is also a two-time First Team All- SWAC and becomes the first addition that Alabama has made since the opening of the transfer portal.
