Agoura boys golf team wins CIF-Southern Section Division 3 title

The Agoura High boys golf team shot a 375 total to capture the CIF-Southern Section Division 3 championship on Monday at Sterling Hills Golf Course.

Freshman Cooper Greenwood fired a 69, junior Ryan Arnold shot a 75, junior Harrison Novak had a 76, senior Dale Capewell finished with a 77, and freshman Elijah Gallo followed with a 78 as the Chargers won the title by five shots over second-place Long Beach.

Agoura was one of 14 teams to advance to the CIF-SS SCGA Qualifier, which will be played Thursday on River Ridge Golf Club's Vineyard Course in Oxnard. The CIF-SS Individual Championship will also be played on the same day at River Ridge.

Oaks Christian was the only other area team to advance to the qualifier. The Lions finished third in the Division 1 tournament at Cross Creek Golf Course in Temecula. Freshman Max Emberson tied for the medalist honors with a 4-under 67, freshman Graham Christopher had a season-best even-par 71 and senior Nick Waldock shot a 72 for the Lions, which finished with a season-best 363 total. Sunny Hills won the 20-team event with a 360 total followed by Anaheim Discovery at 361.

Sahir Baylan fired a 71 and Anthony Nilson had a 78 for Simi Valley, which finished with a 396 in the Division 1 tournament.

Evan Jiang shot a 70, Matthew Fisher had a 76, Daniel Darwin shot a 78, and Gavin McCormick shot an 81 as Thousand Oaks finished with a 385 total in the Division 2 tournament at River Ridge's Victoria Course.

Alexander Cheng shot a 77 and Galvin Alford had a 79 for Oak Park, which finished with a 411 in the Division 3 tournament.

Colin Donnelly shot a 71 and Eoin O'Neil had a 76 for St. Bonaventure, which finished with a 431 in the Division 3 tournament.

Raj Hundal shot an even-par 72 to finish fifth out of 120 players, Morgan Wolff had a 78 and Tyler Meister shot an 83 as Camarillo finished with a 398 team total to take sixth place at the Division 4 tournament at Los Serranos Golf Course.

Kevin McDonald shot an 83, Dylan Blacker had an 86 and Charlie Schurmer had an 87 as Nordhoff finished with a 463 at the Division 5 tournament at Western Hills Country Club. Thomas Chadbourne had an 83 as Foothill Tech finished with a 494.
