Leading Adrian to the win was the county champion, junior Cassidy Hawken, who shot an 84.

"I think the team win means a little more to me," Hawken said. "I think it's more fun when the whole team wins and the individual honor is just a little extra."

The Maples had four of the top-6 golfers, including Grace Smart in second (90), Madison Thomas in fifth (95) and Ryan Kominek tied for sixth (96).

Adrian had a fifth golfer, Megan Schutte, who shot a 109 to take 13th overall.

All five of the Maples are juniors and are having a successful season with a second-straight Lenawee County title to put to their name this season, but looking for more this year.

"We just try to have fun," Hawken said. "Every practice, we go out there and have fun and do our best. We don't let pressure get to us. Our goal is to win the SEC White and next year carry over to win the county again and keep having fun playing golf."

Hawken had fun on her championship run, starting the day with a par and ending the front nine with a birdie.

Behind Hawken and her teammate Smart were a pair of seniors, Tecumseh's Lucy Whelan and Clinton's Kyleigh Ramos, who came in as the defending county champion.

"I felt really good," Hawken said. "I went into the round ready to have some fun and just play my game. Kyleigh is a great golfer, but it felt good to get my redemption."
