Accuser drops lawsuit against Kings coach Walton

The woman who accused Sacramento Kings coach Luke Walton of sexually assaulting her in a hotel room in 2014 has dropped her lawsuit.

Sports reporter Kelli Tennant filed papers this week with the Los Angeles County Superior Court to have her lawsuit dismissed, per multiple reports.

The NBA concluded its investigation of Tennant's allegations in August and determined that there was insufficient evidence to support her claims.

Tennant filed her lawsuit in April, shortly after the Kings hired Walton as head coach.

Walton, 39, who was an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors at the time of the alleged hotel incident, coached the Los Angeles Lakers for three seasons (2016-19) before taking over the Kings.

Attorneys for both Tennant and Walton did not immediately respond to the Los Angeles Times' requests for comment.
