Aberdeen native Austin Hieb is new athletic director at Jamestown Unviersity

Aberdeen native Austin Hieb has been named the new athletic director at Jamestown University in North Dakota.

Hieb has been working as the associate athletic director for external operations and director of athletic development and administration at Northern State University.

Hieb graduated from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, earning a degree in English and communications, and has a doctorate from the University of South Dakota School of Law.

"Austin's background in athletics at Northern State and his enthusiasm for being a part of the success of Jimmie Athletics put him at the top of a strong candidate pool," Polly Peterson, University of Jamestown President, said in a news release. "We look forward to welcoming him to our growing university."
