Aaron Rodgers voted Most Inspirational player for Jets

Aaron Rodgers played all of four snaps in his first season with the New York Jets before tearing his Achilles in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills. Thanks to his speed bridge during his surgery and his rehabilitation, Rodgers nearly made a comeback late in the season. After the Jets lost to the Miami Dolphins in Week 15 to end their playoff chances, Rodgers’ chances of playing again also were eliminated.

Despite that, his comeback attempt spoke to the rest of the team. Rodgers was named the recipient of the Dennis Byrd Award for the Most Inspirational Player on the Jets for the 2023 season. Rodgers stuck around the team and helped any way he could, including being on the sidelines for games and being involved during games.

The Jets are ready to rally around Rodgers in the 2024 season as they push all in for a playoff and potentially a Super Bowl run. Rodgers is the first quarterback to win the award since Chad Pennington in 2007 and only the second offensive player to win since running back LaDainian Tomlinson won back-to-back awards in 2010 and 2011.
