Aaron Civale sharp as Columbus Clippers edge St. Paul Saints 2-1

Thursday's game: Columbus 2, St. Paul 1

Recap: Cleveland Guardians pitcher Aaron Civale, returning from an oblique strain, was sharp in his rehab start, allowing two hits and striking out four in three shutout innings. The Clippers took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when Chris Roller doubled home Zack Collins and Jhonkensy Noel. The Saints got one run in the eighth off Daniel Norris (1-2), but Touki Toussaint pitched the ninth for his second save. Norris pitched five innings, allowing five hits and striking out four. The Clippers had just four hits, while the Saints had eight but left nine runners on base.
