Which 6 athletes stood out at Tuesday's Lafayette City/County Track Meet?

LAFAYETTE — Harrison continued its recent path of dominance in track and field at the Lafayette City County Track Meet on Tuesday in Lafayette Jeff.

The Raiders won 18 of the 32 boys and girls events to win the prelude meet to the NCC meet this Friday in Marion.

Harrison girls outscored West Lafayette 200-125 and the boys outscored McCutcheon 184-115.

Here are six athletes that stood out.

1. Finley Huber, Harrison

Huber has found his dominant streak and sped past his competition in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 4 x 400 relay and 4 x 100 relay. Huber took first place in all four events he ran. He finished the 100 meters in 10.86 seconds and 200 meters in 22.12 seconds while Harrison completed the 4 x 100 relay in 42.32 seconds and 4 x 400 relay in 3:24.38. Huber is in senior year and will run track next season at Cedarsville University in Ohio.

2. and 3. Eva Stokes and Nikolaos Papadogiannis, Harrison

The two Harrison freshmen throwers are making name for themselves after securing wins in the discus. Stokes threw the discus in 128 feet and five inches while Papadogiannis threw his disc in 151 feet and three inches, over 18 feet farther than second place finisher Central Catholic senior Connor Simmons.

4. Ryan Miloudi, West Lafayette

Miloudi who won the IHSAA Cross Country Sectional Championship in 2023 continued his torrent pace setting himself apart as the continued top long distance runner in Lafayette. Miloudi ran the 3,200 meters in 9:49.12 — 30 seconds faster than second place Lafayette Jeff senior Gio Hayes.

5. Andres Negron-Carrero, Harrison

Negron-Carrero who played soccer has a preferred walk-on spot at Purdue. The senior sped through the 400 meters to first place in 48.62 seconds.

6. Amani Byrd, Lafayette Jeff

The emerging junior who starred as her team's point guard showed off her athleticism. Byrd sped through the 100 meters in 12.74 seconds to claim first place.
