3-star DB receives another 247Sports crystal ball prediction to Iowa Hawkeyes

The Iowa Hawkeyes have been in a great spot with three-star recruit Jaylen Watson out of Central Catholic High School in Toledo, Ohio, for some time.

After offering on June 4, Iowa quickly picked up multiple recruiting predictions that favored the Hawkeyes to eventually land Watson’s commitment. It wasn’t long after that when Watson revealed that Iowa was among his final five schools. The 5-foot-11, 175 pound recruit also set his commitment date for July 8.

In the meantime, Iowa managed to lock Watson in for its big official visit weekend. By his own account, Watson had a terrific time visiting Iowa City.

“I absolutely loved it and how everything is set up around the campus. Everyone was super welcoming and nice. I loved every second of being on the campus and walking around,” Watson told Inside The Hawkeyes‘ Rob Howe.

Even with all of the positive momentum coming into the official visit to Iowa City, Watson came away more impressed than he thought he would.

“This visit exceeded all of my expectations. Iowa is definitely a place I can see myself at,” Watson said.

It’s no surprise then to see another 247Sports crystal ball prediction roll in forecasting Watson to the Hawkeyes. Nick Osen of Cyclone Alert is the latest 247Sports reporter to join the party, predicting that Watson would choose Iowa with a crystal ball prediction last night.

While others have viewed Watson as a wide receiver at the next level, Iowa has been recruiting Watson as a defensive back. With defensive coordinator Phil Parker running point, it seems like it’s worked wonders for the Hawkeyes.

Watson is a three-star recruit across 247Sports, ESPN, On3 and Rivals. Per 247Sports, Watson is the nation’s No. 112 athlete and the No. 34 player from Ohio. ESPN ranks Watson as the No. 110 wide receiver and the No. 28 player from Ohio.

On3 lists Watson as the No. 207 wide receiver and the No. 72 player from Ohio. Lastly, Rivals rates Watson as the No. 19 player from Ohio.
