2024 Winter All-County: Full first, second team, honorable mention selections for girls weightlifting

The excitement for this year's Palm Beach County High School Sports Awards is growing more and more following the first release of this winter season's all-county nominations for Player of the Year!

However, there was more talent worthy of recognition after a deal of success for local high school girls weightlifters in 2024.

Full first team, second team, and honorable mention lists can be found below. Nominees for Girls Weightlifter of the year, who will be honored at the live show for the Palm Beach County High School Sports Awards this spring, can be found here.

First team

Sharlyssa Amaya, Dwyer
Sharlyssa Amaya, Dwyer

Sharlyssa Amaya, Dwyer − Recorded totals of 330 and 315 in Traditional and Olympic competition of 183 weight class for Top 10 finishes at 3A states. Totaled 315 in Traditional and 315 in Olympic to take second and third, respectively, at regionals. At districts, won championships in Traditional and Olympic competitions of weight class to help Dwyer defend team title.

Angelina Belanger, Suncoast − Nabbed Top 5 finish in Traditional competition of 154 weight class with 345 total and posted 340 in Olympic Competition to place third. At regionals and districts, claimed championships in both Traditional and Olympic competitions.

Kimberly Berg, Palm Beach Central − At 3A states, posted total of 340 in Traditional competition and 305 in Olympic competition for eighth and ninth place finishes, respectively. At regionals, claimed Traditional championship with 320 total and came second in Olympic with total of 285. Saw championships in Traditional and Olympic competitions at districts.

Celia Castro, Dr. Joaquin Garcia − Posted total of 305 in Traditional competition of 183 weight class for Top 10 finish at 2A states. Placed third at regionals with 295 total. Earned championships in Traditional and Olympic competitions at districts.

Racheal Cemerci, Dwyer − Totaled 335 in Traditional competition and 325 in Olympic competition of 169 weight class for ninth and seventh, respectively, at 3A states. At regionals, took second in Traditional and Olympic competition with totals of 330 and 320, respectively. Got the gold in Traditional and Olympic competitions at districts.

Jayda Egan, Palm Beach Central − Shined at 3A states for third place after totaling 295 in Olympic competition of 119 weight class. Claimed Olympic championship at regionals with 285 total and third place in Traditional with total of 280. Took Olympic and Traditional titles at districts.

Anna Fiore, Suncoast − At 2A states, placed fifth in Traditional with total of 275 and became Palm Beach County's lone champion with winning 290 total in Olympic competition of 110 weight class. In regional competition, totaled 265 for second in Traditional and a 280 to win the Olympic championship. Claimed Traditional and Olympic titles in weight class at districts, where Chargers won Olympic team title.

Emma Johnson, Wellington − State qualifier totaled 330 in Traditional competition and 290 in Olympic competition of 183 weight class at regionals for second and third place finishes, respectively. At districts, won titles in Traditional and Olympic competitions to see Wolverines win team championship.

Nicolette Kafouros, Suncoast − In 129 weight class, totaled 290 in Traditional competition and 275 in Olympic competition for second place in each at regionals. At districts, won Traditional and Olympic championships in weight class.

Emelie Lewis, Dwyer − At 3A states, totaled 240 in Olympic competition of 101 weight class for Top 5 finish. Won Olympic championship at regionals with 225 total and placed third in Traditional with 215 total. Won Traditional and Olympic championships at districts.

Ianna Mcclean, Dwyer − State qualifier placed third in Traditional and Olympic competitions of 110 weight class with 215 total in each at regionals. At districts, took second place in Traditional and Olympic competitions of weight class.

Maile Manriques, Wellington − State qualifier placed fourth in Olympic competition of UNL weight class at regionals with 280 total. Finished second in Traditional competition of weight class at districts and claimed Olympic championship with total of 265.

Danielle Newell, Wellington − At 3A states, totaled 250 in Traditional competition of 110 pound weight class for Top 10 finish. Posted 245 in Traditional competition and 215 in Olympic competition to win both titles at regionals. Also won Traditional and Olympic championships at districts.

Morgan Lury, Jupiter − State qualifier posted 305 total in Traditional competition and 250 in Olympic competition of 169 weight class for third and fourth place finishes, respectively, at regionals. At districts, placed second and third in Traditional and Olympic competitions, respectively.

Maleena Rodriguez, Royal Palm Beach − State qualifier recorded 225 and 215 in Traditional and Olympic competitions of 110 weight class for second place in each at regionals. Claimed championships in Traditional and Olympic competitions at districts.

Christina Rameau, Boynton Beach − Finished ninth in the Traditional competition of the 101-pound weight class at 2A states with a 220 total. Also recorded 220 at regionals for third place. Earned championships in Traditional and Olympic competitions at districts.
