Here are 16 players that stood out over the weekend.

Jayda Porter and Mari Miller (Rock Bridge)

Rock Bridge opened the Sophie Cunningham Classic on Friday with a 68-51 victory over a good Booker T. Washington team that features class of 2025 Baylor commit Marcayla Johnson. While Johnson was named game MVP for the Hornets, the Bruins MVP and undoubtedly the most dominant player for both teams was Jayda Porter. As only a sophomore, Porter scored 29 points on 11 of 21 shooting, including four of five from behind the arc displaying versatility on the offensive end. She also grabbed eight rebounds while collecting four steals, three blocks, and a pair of assists in the Bruins' 17-point victory. Both Miller and Porter were the only two players to score in double-figures for the Bruins over their past two games.

Gabriel Troy-Mebane (Link Academy)

Rock Bridge didn’t end with an undefeated record in the Sophie Cunningham Classic because of the Link Academy’s Gabriel Troy-Mebane. She didn’t lead the team in scoring as Lailah Hatcher tallied 14 points, but Troy-Mebane hit the most important shot. Following a Rock Bridge turnover with just seconds to play, Troy-Mebane splashed a corner 3-pointer at the buzzer, giving her team a stunning victory over the Bruins. It wrapped up a 13-point and four-steal performance in the final game of the three-day showcase.

Battle and Quincy played perhaps the most exciting game of the Sophie Cunningham Classic as both teams battled to a 38-38 tie in regulation before the Spartans pulled away in overtime by a score of 42-38. Tayla Robinson came in huge for the Spartans as she went four of five from behind the arc on her way to a 16-point performance and game MVP honors.

Jaleah Brookins came in key late on both ends of the floor. She gave Battle the lead for good in overtime with a bucket and with time ticking away made a huge defensive play that led to the game-clinching free throws for Boo Anderson. Brookins finished with a double-double of 10 points to go along with 14 rebounds. She's not the tallest, but her effort in the post makes her a dominant player in the paint.
