2024 NFL draft: 4 developmental QB prospects for the Steelers to consider

The latest report going around is that the Pittsburgh Steelers are considering free-agent quarterback Ryan Tannehill due to his connection with new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith. If the Steelers choose to release Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph signs elsewhere, there is a spot on the depth chart for a rookie developmental player.

Here are four prospects for the 2024 NFL draft for the Steelers to consider. These are guys grade out from the 6th round on and most would be considered UDFA prospects.

UCLA’s Collin Schlee has prototypical NFL size, plus athleticism, and a strong arm. His UCLA film isn’t great but he showed enough at Kent State to earn a spot at camp.

Former Oklahoma quarterback who turned in a big senior campaign at Wisconsin. He’s a smart, confident quarterback who can make all the throws. He’s also got excellent athleticism and throws well on the move.

Emory Jones, Cincinnati

Gerry Bohanon, USF

The most raw player on this list but has as much upside as any. Big, strong NFL frame and a strong arm. But his mechanics are raw and he needs plenty of coaching.
