Several Austin-area athletes earned medals at the UIL state wrestling championships in February at the Berry Center outside Houston. That included three wrestlers who won their championships: Dripping Springs' Alec Rill, Cedar Park's Nathan Reilly and Round Rock's Rachel Corley, all three of whom landed spots on this year's American-Statesman All-Central Texas wrestling team:

Boys wrestler of the year: Alec Rill

Rill, competing in the Class 6A 215-pound division, completed his brilliant Dripping Springs career by winning a state championship. He leaves as a four-time state qualifier; he placed fifth as a sophomore, third as a junior and first this year.

Dripping Springs senior Alec Rill, a four-time state tournament qualifier, capped his career by winning the Class 6A 215-pound division title.
