Here are the 2023 Taunton Daily Gazette Field Hockey All-Scholastics

TAUNTON — Another high school field hockey season has come and gone in the Greater Taunton area.

Once again, Dighton-Rehoboth (7-6-6, 4-3-3 South Coast Conference) led the way locally, competing once again for the league title and qualifying for the Division 3 tournament as the No. 21 seed before falling to No. 12 Swampscott in the Round of 32.

Taunton (5-13-0, 4-12-0 Hockomock League) and Bridgewater-Raynham (3-13-2, 2-6-0 Southeast Conference) both put in some solid showings with some young players that should bode well for over the next couple of years.

With the fall season now in the rearview, here's a final look back at the Greater Taunton area field hockey players who stood out among the crowd to earn their spot as 2023 Taunton Daily Gazette Field Hockey All-Scholastics.

The senior goalie wrapped up her high school career as perhaps the best shot stopper in the South Coast Conference. Equipped with quick reflexes and strong field vision, Whittaker recorded 173 saves on over 200 shots for a save percentage of 87%, notching a 30-save performance against rivals Somerset Berkley.

An SCC All-Star, Falcons coach Meghan Marcotte described Whittaker as "the best goalie (she's) ever had the privilege to coach," noting how opposing coaches and officials often complimented her on her abilities and work to keep her team in every game. Whittaker will certainly be missed at D-R next year as she continues her academic and field hockey career at the collegiate level.
