2023 LSU Tigers Snapshot Profile: No. 38 Peyton Todd

Going into the 2023 football season, LSU Wire will be looking at each player listed on the Tigers’ roster.

Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Brian Kelly this season.

LSU likely already knows who its starting punter will be in Jay Bramblett, last year’s starter. However, we’re looking at the other player in that mix in redshirt sophomore Peyton Todd. The backup punter and holder last season, Todd didn’t attempt any punts but appeared in one game, holding a PAT against Purdue in the Citrus Bowl.

Depth Chart Overview

The No. 1 punter in the nation coming out of West Monroe, the in-state prospect chose the Tigers, and there was speculation he could win the open punting job as a true freshman.

However, the bulk of those reps instead went to longtime kickoff specialist Avery Atkins, and after he graduated, a Notre Dame transfer in Bramblett ultimately won the job.

Barring injury, Todd projects as a backup once again but could be poised to take over the punting job in 2024 and beyond.
