2023 LSU Tigers Snapshot Profile: No. 53 Lance Heard

Going into the 2023 football season, LSU Wire will be looking at each player listed on the Tigers’ roster.

Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Brian Kelly this season.

We’re taking a look at one of the most anticipated additions in LSU’s signing class in Lance Heard. A five-star offensive tackle from Neville High School in Monroe, Louisiana, Heard was the highest-rated prospect in LSU’s 2023 class and should provide immediate depth along the offensive line in Year 1 with the Tigers.

Depth Chart Overview

The highest-rated prospect in the state of Louisiana not named Arch Manning in this past cycle, Heard was also the third-ranked offensive tackle in the country. LSU has its two starting tackle spots locked down by Will Campbell and Emery Jones Jr., but Heard could provide key depth there immediately.

He also could see the field first on the interior, where LSU is thinner and has more question marks.
