2023 LSU Tigers Snapshot Profile: No. 89 Connor Gilbreath

Going into the 2023 football season, LSU Wire will be looking at each player listed on the Tigers’ roster.

Over the preseason, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Brian Kelly this season.

We’re looking at one of the more intriguing additions to the 2023 recruiting class, COnnor Gilbreath. Gilbreath is a bit of an anomaly. He was recruited out of high school to play offensive tackle and that is where he started his career at Butte College. Since then, he has transitioned into a tight end.

Depth Chart Overview

Gilbreath is an interesting prospect, to say the least. Coming out of high school, he was recruited as an offensive tackle. He then went to Butte College where he played offensive tackle and some tight end. That’s when a lot of Division I coaches noticed that he may have a future at tight end. So, Kelly signed him to do just that. He will be competing for playing time in a stacked tight end room.
