2023 Little League World Series: How many girls have played in LLWS? How many MLB, NHL, NFL players?
Stella Weaver is the only girl who will play in the 2023 Little League World Series, and will become the 22nd of to accomplish the feat Friday when Nolensville Little League plays its first game.
Many who have played in the Little League World Series have gone on to find success in professional baseball and other sports.

How many girls have played in the LLWS?

Nolensville’s Stella Weaver will become the 22nd this year.
Notable names include Mo’ne Davis, who earned the first pitching victory for a girl in 2014, against South Nashville Little League; and Krissy (Wendell) Pohl, who played for Minnesota in 2004 before becoming captain of the U.S. Women's Hockey team.
The most recent was Falynn Randall, who played for Utah in 2022. The first girl to play in the Series was Victoria Roche, who did so in 1984 for a team from Brussels, Belgium.
Not until Victoria Brucker of California in 1989 did a girl pitch or get a hit in the Series.

Jim Barbieri, who played part of one season with the Dodgers in 1966, was the first future Major League Baseball player to play in the LLWS in 1953. He also played in 1954.
Notables include Cody Bellinger, Lance Lynn, Michael Conforto, Carney Lansford, Boog Powell, Gary Sheffield, Jonathan Schoop and Lloyd McClendon, who hit five home runs in five at-bats and was intentionally walked in his other five plate appearances for Gary, Indiana, in 1971.

Billy Hunter, former executive director of the NBA Players' Association, played for Pennsylvania team in 1955. Former Titans quarterback Matt Cassel and Brian Snipe, the 1980 NFL MVP at quarterback, are other notables.
Jake Fromm, Gale Gilbert, Dick Hart, Jack Losch, Trey Quinn, Turk Schonert and Julian Vandervelde also played.
How many NHL players have played in LLWS?

Chris Drury's Connecticut team won the title in 1989. Ray Ferraro, Pierre Turgeon and Stephane Matteau all played on the same team from Quebec in 1982.
How many NASCAR drivers have played in LLWS?

NASCAR driver Austin Dillon played for North Carolina in 2002.
