Here are 2023-2024 All-Enquirer preseason girls basketball teams for Greater Cincinnati

It's time to turn on the lights in gyms across Greater Cincinnati and roll out the basketballs.

As the regular season start dates are Nov. 22 in Ohio and Nov. 27 in Kentucky, here are the All-Enquirer's preseason teams for Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Indiana, which started in October.

Princeton, which won the Division II state championship, leads the Buckeye State with four selections. The Cooper Jaguars, coming off their second-straight Ninth Region title, have five honorees to lead all Kentucky and Indiana schools.

Ohio All-Enquirer teams

First team

Dee Alexander, Purcell Marian: The reigning Ohio Ms. Basketball and the Division II Player of the Year holds over 30 Division I scholarship offers. Last season as a sophomore, Alexander averaged 25.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.6 steals per game as the Cavaliers went 27-2 and won a second-straight state championship.

Braelyn Even, Badin: The Greater Catholic League-Coed Player of the Year was named to the DII all-state second team after scoring 14.7 points per game, good for second in the league. She tallied 14 double-doubles last season and scored a season-high 33 points against Fenwick.

Mari Gerton, Princeton: The junior was the second-leading scorer for the Vikings in 2022-2023 while learning from Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year Solé Williams. On her way to scoring 12.6 points per game and being named a DI all-state special mention, Gerton had five games of 20 points or more. Prep Girls Hoops ranks her as the No. 3 player in Ohio in the class of 2025.

Seini Hicks, Purcell Marian: She was named to the DI all-state second team while at West Clermont. As a Wolf, Hicks was second in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference in rebounds per game (10.0) and blocks per game (1.4). The Ohio State commit will look to play a prominent role for the Cavaliers as they go for their third-straight state championship.

Madison Parrish, Mason: Parrish is coming off a season in which she led the Comets with 13.7 points per game. She also put up 3.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.4 steals. A DI all-state third-team selection as a sophomore, Prep Girls Hoops lists Parrish as the No. 2 player in Ohio in the class of 2025.

Second team

Kailee Bransford, Mount Notre Dame: The younger sister of former Cougars standout K.K. Bransford is already making a name for herself. As a sophomore, she averaged 10.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, and was second in the Girls Greater Catholic League with 2.8 assists per game. She also made a buzzer-beater to topple previously unbeaten Talawanda in a sectional final.

Gracie Cosgrove, Badin: She was named a DII all-state honorable mention while averaging 13.3 points and 2.6 rebounds for the Rams. Cosgrove scored 48 points in a breakout performance against Chaminade Julienne where she tied the OHSAA state record with 14 three-pointers in a single game.

Katie Fox, Lakota West: She was one of just five freshmen to be honored with a DI all-state selection. Fox was third in the Greater Miami Conference last season with 14 points per game and led the conference with four assists per game. Fox logged a career-high eight assists on two different occasions last year and scored 31 points against Oak Hills.

Jayda Mosley, Purcell Marian: As a junior, she was the Cavaliers' second-leading scorer at 9.9 points while shooting 37.8 percent from three-point range. Mosley also only missed one free throw all year, converting 94.1 percent of her shots from the stripe. The DII all-state honorable mention and Youngstown State commit put up a season-high 22 points against Millbrook (North Carolina) and has a career-high of 33 points from her freshman season.

Alli Robertson, Harrison: Through the first two years of her high school career, Robertson has been one of the best scorers in the state. As a freshman, she scored 17 points per game and pulled down 7.4 rebounds. Those numbers increased to 23 points per game and 10.6 rebounds per game as a sophomore. A DI all-state special mention last year, she has 19 career double-doubles and is just 54 points away from 1,000 for her career.

Northern Kentucky/Indiana All-Enquirer teams

First team

Quinn Eubank, Ryle: The Belmont commit is one of the best playmakers in Northern Kentucky. She can go coast-to-coast for a bucket or create her own shot, as evidenced by her 14.3 points per game and 55.6 field goal percentage in 2022-2023. She also has excellent court vision to find shots for her teammates. Eubank led the Raiders last year with 8.5 rebounds per game.

Liz Freihofer, Cooper: As a junior, Freihofer matched her sophomore scoring average of 10.3 points per game. She saved her best play for the postseason, averaging 12.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in the district and regional tournaments, on her way to earning the 33rd District and Ninth Region tournament Most Valuable Player awards. She is committed to Eastern Kentucky University.

Marissa Green, Highlands: Green is a force to be reckoned with in the post. On offense, she averaged 17.6 points and nine rebounds per game. While the Kentucky High School Athletic Association doesn't officially track blocks, Green has the length and speed to alter a multitude of shots every time she steps on the floor. Last season, her field goal percentage of 63.7 was the third-best in the state.

Anna Hamilton, Cooper: The Northern Kentucky commit led the Cougars with 15.9 points per game last season. She shot 38.8 percent from three-point range while converting 81.7 percent of her free throws and pulling down 4.7 rebounds.

Julia Hunt, Holy Cross: The senior was named Kentucky Ms. Volleyball for her efforts this past season and should be in the running for the Ninth Region Player of the Year in basketball. The Washington volleyball commit averaged 13.2 points and 9.3 rebounds last year. With over 1,000 career points and rebounds, she could very well average a double-double this season.

Second team

Maleah Alexander, Cooper: She only averaged 3.8 rebounds and 2.1 rebounds last year, but the senior is known for her lockdown defense. She recently committed to Liberty University, making her one of four Jaguars seniors who will play at the next level.

Sarah Baker, Ryle: She is one of the best forwards in Northern Kentucky and will look to lead the Raiders to their first district title since 2021, and their first region title since 2020. Last season, she was one of three Raiders to average double figures as she averaged 11 points to go with 6.9 rebounds. Baker is committed to Youngstown State.

Caroline Eaglin, Newport Central Catholic: The senior was one of the top scorers in the state last season and will once again be a leader for the Thoroughbreds. Her 24.8 points per game was good for eighth in the state. Eaglin was also an expert at drawing fouls; she attempted 297 free throws last year, which was third-most in the state.

Sophia Gibson, Notre Dame: As a sophomore, Gibson was second on her team with 8.1 points per game and led the Pandas with 5.9 rebounds per game. Just like last season, Notre Dame only has one senior, Kendra Collins. Gibson is one of six juniors who will help the Pandas compete in the Ninth Region.

Logan Palmer, Cooper: Palmer's primary responsibility will be to fill the role left by 2022-2023 Ninth Region Player of the Year Whitney Lind. The Evansville commit has the height to give the opposition problems in the post but has the range to step out and knock down a three-pointer. Palmer averaged 8.6 points and 3.2 rebounds last season while shooting 43.9 percent from the floor.
